Bill and Fee Policies

At Serenity Counseling Services, we believe in transparency with our billing and service fees and being clear in what the charges are and why they are applied. Some important information is as follows, and is published in our informed consent for counseling:

Late Cancellation and No Show Fees:

The time scheduled for your appointment is assigned to you and you alone. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, we ask that you provide us with 24 hours notice. If you miss a session without canceling, or cancel with less than 24 hour notice, our policy is to collect the amount of $110 or $60 dollars according to the time of the cancelation [unless both you and your clinician agree that you were unable to attend due to circumstances beyond your control]. If it is possible, your clinician will try to find another time to reschedule the appointment. In addition, you are responsible for coming to your session on time; if you are late, your appointment will still need to end on time.

Session Fees:

The standard fee for the initial intake is $110.00 and each subsequent session is $110.00.

A special note about court cases: these can be time consuming, and can involve participation from out clinicians. If this is the case, you will be expected to pay for the professional time even if a different party compels the clinician to testify.

Late Payment or Returned Checks:

Without prior arrangement with your clinician, payment is expected at the time of your session. Any checks that are returned to Serenity Counseling Services are subject to an additional fee based on the amount that the bank will charge for the returned check.
